Role

Senior Software Engineer — POS app, APIs, payments, and printing reliability

Problem

Restaurant operators were stitching together separate systems for ordering, payments, kitchen tickets, and reporting — causing lost tickets, slow service, and fragile device integrations.

Approach

  • Designed the Ionic Cordova POS client for fast order entry and offline-resilient flows
  • Built Node/Express APIs on MongoDB as the single source of truth for orders and devices
  • Integrated Moneris and Global Payments terminals for Canadian card and Interac flows
  • Created a dedicated printing server to stabilize kitchen command queues under peak load

Architecture

POS client (Ionic/Cordova)
Node/Express API layer
MongoDB order & device store
Payment device bridges
Kitchen printing queue service

Results

Unified front-of-house, kitchen, and payments on one cloud platform

More reliable kitchen printing during rush periods
